Frequently Asked Questions

What about rehearsal?  Rehearsal is generally held the afternoon before the wedding, but some couples choose to have rehearsal on Thursday since Friday before the wedding is hectic enough!  Rehearsal lasts one hour, plus 15 minutes to unload items being brought to the venue.  (All items needed from toasting glasses to gowns should arrive on rehearsal day).

No one wants rehearsal to last long because you have a big night ahead of you and the venue has work to do after you leave!  But people who have not seen each other for a while, and seeing the venue for the first time, tends to turn rehearsal into a party.  To discourage this, there is a facility fee of $250 if a rehearsal goes over its alloted time.  And  that includes being late! it is stressed that only those directly involved in the ceremony should attend rehearsal. The time spent will be more efficient and you can get to rehearsal dinner quicker!

Can we buy more wedding day time?  Your day is 8 hours, with dressing time prior to the ceremony 2 1/2 hours.  Ceremony and reception is 5 1/5 hours.  Most couples find this ample time.  The venue can take 30 minutes of dressing time and add it to ceremony/reception time.  However additional time cannot be added to the day.

My brother is a DJ. Can he DJ my wedding?  This question comes up often. If there is one thing we have learned hosting weddings at a venue of this size it pays to have a Dj that knows  his way around and knows the routine that always gives our couples a glitch-free event.  He does not just provide music, but is the “right hand” to our coordinator.  The DJs on our vendor list are not only very good, but they have worked events with us for literally years and know every nuance of how the day will play out.  You don’t want a DJ learning the ropes at your event!

Do we have to use your vendors?  Again, working with vendors who know the venue well, and have experience with the staff and the structure of our events, is a great  benefit to you.  But we realize that there may be a family photographer who has done all of the weddings in your family and you really want to use them!  Of course you may do so.  Our only requirement is that he/she must visit the venue before your wedding day to familiarize themselves with the venue and logistics of getting around.  The venue permits just one new vendor at any event.

Can we leave cars parked overnight in the parking lot? You may but the vehicle owner assumes the risk as the parking lot is not protected.

Can we throw rice or birdseed after the ceremony? Only bubbles, real rose petals or smokeless sparklers are allowed. (No silk petals please!  The swans try to eat them.)  Ask about our sparkler grand departure!
